New banner sign for use at the intersection of Hammonds Plains Road and Westwood Blvd.
The far end of the market site was uneven and had a fair number of rocks sticking up, thus limiting how much space we could use for the market. At the most recent market we had 20 vendors and had pretty well maxed out the available space. Yesterday evening, and a big thanks here to Rob Mason Excavating, we got rid of the worst of the rocks and had a load of gravel placed and smoothed thus extending the useable area.
The weather handed the us another great day for the second market of the season although there was some doubt given the cloud and fog in the morning before the sun broke through just before market setup time. The market saw a steady stream of customers enjoying the day, the great offerings from the seventeen vendors, live music and meeting friends for a chat. For those who weren't able to make it this week, please check out the visual feast below, all taken at today's market.
Back in January when the organizing committee first started planning this years market we put in a request for a fine opening day and mother nature granted that request in a big way. The market kicked off with a great roster of 16 vendors, a steady stream and marketers and the first fully sunny day in what seems like ages.
Check out the photos below to see just a bit of what was happening at the opening day of the market or even better come join us next market day. We'll be here each Tuesday until October.
The market will be running every Tuesday afternoon until the end of October. Please come out and support your local market!
